Ubisoft Mail The World With Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag PR

Some of you may have gotten a strange letter this week. An envelope containing a single playing card. The card is the Ace of Spades and Ubisoft hid some cryptic clues on the front of the card. From flight to spit, where her wicked soul rests. This message is in reference to the Queen Anne’s Revenge but also included on the card was a set of numbers; 176.58.109.224. The numbers are actually an IP address that brings up the new Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Ace of Spades website.

Some talented folk over at the Xboxer360 website also discovered the password to activate the page is the coordinates of the Queen Anne’s Revenge supposed resting place. Whether you got the card or not adding 344144 764120 to the two password fields will give you access, check it out before September 30th as that’s when the event is starting.

EA Will Give Star Wars: Battlefront Its Best Developers

During a recent interview EA Games Label head Patrick Soderlund provided his thoughts and opinions on the highly anticipated, Star Wars Battlefront. He explained that EA chose DICE to spearhead the project due to their passion and dedication to bringing their fans the games IP’s deserve.

He also goes on to talk about the impact Star Wars Battlefront could have on the Star Wars franchise as a whole. The original games were awesome, the only negative is that we’ve had to way so darn long for news regarding a new iteration.

Valve Announced SteamOS

Valve, the developers behind the hugely popular digital distribution service Steam, have revealed the first of their upcoming announcements, the SteamOS. Based on the Linux platform Valve hope to deliver the Steam experience to the living room with the new SteamOS. Players will be able to stream games and content directly from their Steam account to any SteamOS supported device, finally giving us the option to truly experience the big screen with Steam.

The official announcement doesn’t go into great detail regarding devices that will support the SteamOS but there are possibilities that next-generation deals have been made. There’s also a good chance that it could be exclusive to Valve’s upcoming Steam Box.

Nintendo Celebrating 124 Years

Did you know that Nintendo originally began as a provide of Hanafuda cards, instant rice, love hotels and public transport services? The company was originally established on September 2nd 1889, before finally branching out and becoming the company we know today in the 80s.

Nintendo are responsible for some of the most iconic characters in gaming including Donkey Kong, Link and the Mario Brothers. Without Nintendo there’s no telling where the gaming industry would have gone so all the staff at Gamers Heroes wish the Big N a very happy birthday.

Grand Theft Auto Online Will Not Support 32 Players

After the release of Grand Theft Auto V the gaming community took it upon themselves to dive into the files that help create the game. There’s always leftover information and hidden tidbits in a games source files, and it’s 50/50 whether they prove to be true or useful.

Players discovered references that supported rumors that stated the online multiplayer would support 32 players. Rockstar have since squashed the findings as pure rumor, confirming that the previously announced figure of 16 supported players is in actual fact, final.

Brits Think Games Cause Violence

With Grand Theft Auto V still occupying the mind of practically every game, the typical angry responses to the violence, drugs and nudity are in full swing. The latest comes in the form of a survey aimed at UK residents, asking them whether or not they believe gaming can cause violent behavior in players.

The YouGuv poll returned some surprising results as 61% of British residents claimed that video-games do support violence. A strange figure considering the recent findings of another survey that suggested many parents would let underage children play Grand Theft Auto V.

Grand Theft Auto Online Could Feature Micro-Transactions

A recent article has given credit to rumors that suggest Grand Theft Auto Online could utilize a micro-transaction payment model. As with our previous story the information comes from a leak that could be old information, or could actually be relevant for the official release. The leak suggests that players may be able to purchase cash-cards for real life money, giving them a serious advantage in-game over players that don’t choose to invest.

Whether or not this will turn out true is yet to be seen but even delivering a 10/10 experience with GTAV won’t calm the rage if it does prove true.

Update: An article appearing on EuroGamer has revealed that this is in fact true and Grand Theft Auto Online will feature micro-transactions.
