GTA Online: The Chop Shop Now Available
The latest free update to Rockstar Games’ GTA Online, The Chop Shop, is now available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC version of the game.
As part of this update, Liberty City’s Yusuf Amir and his cousin Jamal will give players a chance to utilize the Salvage Yard. This illicit business will give players the chance to steal, strip, and sell Los Santos’ finest rides through different Salvage Yard Robberies.
GTA Online players can get started by answering the call from Yusuf Amir. Owning the Salvage Yard cuts you in on Yusuf and his cousin Jamal’s plans for robberies, which can be accessed from one’s Salvage Yard’s Planning Wall. Each features a special target, which needs the proper planning for a successful boost.
Once players get a vehicle, they can utilize their chop shop’s lifts and break down each vehicle for valuable parts over time. Note that instant gratification is also an option: one can sell off stolen vehicles for a lump sum by safely dropping them off at the docks. From there, these will be shipped in a cargo container to Yusuf Amir. Just try to make sure not to scratch the paint job or wheel-wells on your journey there.
There are five Salvage Yard properties in all, giving players the chance to operate remotely from Paleto Bay or get central real estate in Strawberry. The Salvage Yard also pays host to optional upgrades, including Trade Rates. This can help players extend their chop shop connections to a special discount when requesting destroyed vehicles from Mors Mutual or repairing vehicles in any custom shop. One is also able to upgrade their Salvage Yard with a Tow Truck – just the thing to tow designated delinquent vehicles back to the Salvage Yard for another auto part source.
Salvage Yard Robberies — in addition to all other GTA Online: The Chop Shop activities — feature their own suite of Daily Challenges, Pause Menu Awards, and Career Progress challenges for players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This can be found in the Career tab of the Pause Menu.
