X and Y Guide

Mewtwo is one of the Legendary Pokemon you can catch in X & Y. He cannot be caught until after you beat the Elite Four so don’t bother until then. This guide will help you find him and catch him. Let’s get started.

Catching Mewtwo

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Mega Mewtwo

Pokemon X & Y Catching Mewtwo Guide

First thing you should do before going after Mewtwo is to get plenty of healing items and various types of Poke balls. I would recommend your Master ball if you haven’t used it yet, if you have we have a solution for you as well.

First thing you will want to do it to head to Pokemon village which is below Snowbelle village. Go to the river in the area and use surf to go up and find a cave. Inside that cave you can find Mewtwo just waiting for you, save the game and activate your Capture Power from your O Power list. Mewtwo is lvl 70 and he is a psychic Pokemon.

Bring a Pokemon higher than lvl 70 and isn’t weak to psychic moves because he can hit hard. Mewtwo has a self heal that can heal about 50% of his max hp so even when you get him low he will heal back up. My battle went on for about 15 turns and I used 10 Ultra balls while he was in red hp and I finally caught him. If the battle goes on for a really long time you should try to use a Timer ball which gets stronger as the battle goes on. Mewtwo will come with his mega evolution stone so you can mega evolve him right away.

The Elite Four are all that stand between you and the Pokemon League Champion. They will be the strongest opponents you’ve faced and this guide will help you beat them all so you can meet the champion. Let’s get started.

Wikstrom

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Champ

Pokemon X & Y Elite Four Guide

Be sure to bring plenty of potions and revives because these fights are tough. After each fight you can heal up in the lobby area and you can also save.

Wikstrom is the Elite Four’s Steel Pokemon user. I used my Charizard and Lucario for this battle. He has a lvl 63 Klefki who is weak to fire and ground, a lvl 63 Probopass who is weak to ground, a lvl 65 Aegislash who is weak to fire and ground, and a lvl 63 Scizor who is weak to fire.

Drasna

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Drasna is the Dragon member of the Elite four. Dragon Pokemon are weak to ice and dragon moves, I used Lucario and Slowbro with icebeam. Drasna will send out a lvl 63 Dragalga who is weak to ice and psychic moves, lvl 65 Noivern who is weak to ice moves, a lvl 63 Altaria who is weak to dragon moves, and a lvl 63 Druddigon who is weak to dragon moves.

Malva

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Malva is the fire member of the Elite four. Of course you will want to use water and ground Pokemon here, I used Lucario, Slowbro and Tyrantrum. Malva will send out a lvl 63 Pyroar who is weak to ground and fighting, a lvl 65 Talonflame who is weak to rock, a lvl 63 Torkoal who is weak to rock, and a lvl 53 Chanderlure who is weak to rock.

Siebold

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Fossil Pokemon

Siebold is the water member of the Elite four. I started with Chespin so I was able to wreck this guy easily. Siebold will send out a lvl 63 Clawitzer who is weak to grass, a lvl 63 Starmie who is weak to grass, a lvl 63 Gyarados who is weak to rock and electric, and a lvl 65 Barbaracle who is weak to grass. After you beat all four of them you can face of with the champion.

Dianetha

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Diantha is the Final Four champion. She will send out a lvl 64 Hawlucha who is weak to psychic moves, a lvl 65 Aurorus who is weak to fighting moves, a lvl 66 Goodra who is weak to ice and dragon moves, a lvl 65 Tyrantrum who is weak to ground and dragon, a lvl 65 Gourgeist who is weak to ghost and dark moves, and finally a lvl 68 Gardevoir who is weak to poison and steel moves. After you beat her you and your Pokemon will be labeled as champions.

X and Y Guide

The final Gym is in Snowbelle city and it is the Ice gym. Bringing a fire Pokemon is the best choice for here but be careful because Ice does a ton of damage. This guide will help you beat him on your first try! Let’s get started.

Snowbelle Gym

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Legendary

Pokemon X & Y Snowbelle City Gym Guide

Bring the usual potions and revives but also bring some ice heals since this is the ice gym. A fire Pokemon will work best here and the mega evolution of Charizard can clear this place on his own so use him if you can.

At the start of the gym take the left set of stairs down and face off with Ace Trainer Imelda. Imelda has a lvl 54 Sneasel who is weak to fire and a lvl 55 Cloyster who is weak to grass moves. Ignore the switch for now and go fight the other trainer, Ace Trainer Viktor. Viktor has a lvl 54 Delibird who is weak to fire and a lvl 55 Mamoswin who is also weak to fire.

You will need to use the switches to turn the floors around until you can make it across the middle to the next set of trainers. Blue will move the blue floor and pink will move the pink floor. Once you make a path to the yellow one travel to it and face off with Ace Challenger Shannon who is on the green platform. Shannon has a lvl 52 Cyrogonal who is weak to fire, a lvl 53 Piloswine who is weak to fire, and a lvl 54 Jynx who is also weak to fire.

After you beat Shannon go to the green floor and take it to the yellow platform and face off with Ace Trainer Theo. Theo has a lvl 54 Beartic who is weak to fire and a lvl 55 Vanilluxe who is also weak to fire. After that switch the yellow floor so it connects to the middle path then head to the green platform and move it until you can access the steps. Save and heal up because up the stairs is the gym leader.

Wulfric has a lvl 56 Abomasnow who is weak to fire, a lvl 55 Cyrogonal who is weak to fire, and a lvl 59 Avalugg who is, you guessed it, weak to fire. After you win you will get the Iceberg badge and the TM Ice Beam, which is really strong.

Anistar City has the 7th badge and is home to the Psychic gym. You will want to bring a Dark or Ghost type Pokemon to get through this gym easily. This guide will help you bring down the leader and help you get the badge! Let’s get started.

Anistar City

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Gym Battle

Pokemon X & Y Anistar City Gym Guide

As usual be sure to bring some potions and revives just in case you need to use them. I ran through this gym with a lvl 52 Tyrantrum with no problems at all.

Walk to the center of the star between the two statues to start this gym. Head up and follow the path until you face off with Psychic Paschal. Paschal has a lvl 46 Exeggutor who is weak dark, I used a lvl 52 Tyrantrum for this battle.

Keep following the path up until you hit a yellow block and drop to different level. Keep follow the path to the right until you hit the next yellow block and take it as well. From there head down to another yellow block and then down again to a fourth yellow block. On the next level keep going down until you face off with Psychic Harry who will send out a lvl 46 Medicham. I couldn’t find his weakness but it isn’t Dark and my lvl 52 Tyrantrum still got the job done with crunch.

After you beat Harry head down and then take a right until you hit another yellow square. Follow the next path up to another yellow square and you will be on a pink floor. Take the path until you run into Psychic Arthur. Arthur has a lvl 46 Reuniclus who died in one hit from my Dark attack.

Go around Arthur and take the next yellow block to a green floor. Follow the path to the left until you run into Hex Maniac Melanie. Melanie will send out a lvl 46 Gardevoir who is weak to Ghost type moves. After you beat her follow the path to the left and take the yellow pad. Heal up and save because it is time to face the gym leader.

The gym leader is Olympia and she has a lvl 44 Sigilyph who is weak to Dark moves, a lvl 45 Slowking who is weak to Dark moves, and a lvl 48 Meowstick who is also weak to Dark moves. After you beat her you will get the Psychic badge and the TM Calm Mind.

After the Fairy gym you gain access to the Poke ball factory and have to fight Team Flare inside. There are quite a few of them and after you beat them all you will get to choose between a Master Ball or a Big Nugget. Which should you choose? Keep reading to find out!

Master Ball Or Big Nugget?

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

Mewtwo
Pokemon X & Y Master Ball or Big Nugget?

In order to get to the part with the Master Ball or Big Nugget choice you will have to fight Team Flare until you can switch the direction of the conveyor belt and make it to the main office. Once you are in the main office you will have two Pokemon battles one solo and one duo with your neighbor. After you win the guy in the office will offer you the choice of the Master Ball or Big Nugget.

They try to be tricky here but it doesn’t matter which one you pick because you will get both from him for beating Team Flare.

The Master Ball is the same as it is in every other Pokemon game, it can catch any Pokemon one try no matter what so it is best saved for a legendary Pokemon such as Mewtwo.

I’m not sure what the Big Nugget is for at the moment but I would hold onto it since it seems rare.

Laverre City

[line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Battle

Pokemon X & Y Laverre City Gym Guide

Up to this point I didn’t have a steel Pokemon so I went with a Bug Pokemon. The highest level Pokemon in here is 42 so try to bring something around 50. Be sure to bring some potions and revives because odds are you are going to lose a Pokemon or two.

Once you are in the go to the left teleport pad first. This will get you a fight with Furisode Girl Kali. Kali has a lvl 38 Dedenne who is weak to ground and bug and a lvl 38 Azumaril who is weak to bug type moves.

After you beat Kali go to the other teleport pad in the room and you will go to a different room. In this room you will face off with Furisode Girl Linnea and her lvl 40 Aromafisse who is weak to bug moves.

From there take the teleport pad in the top of the room and you will end up in a bathroom. Take the pad below the one you came in and you will end up in a room with only one pad so take that one. In the next room you will face off with Furisode Girl Blossom. Blossom has a lvl 37 Klefki who is weak to bug moves, a lvl 37 Kirlia who I couldn’t find the weakness to, and a lvl 37 Granbull who is likely weak to bug but my bug Pokemon died so I’m not sure.

After that take the pad that is on the bottom of the room and you will be teleported to a bedroom with a Furisode Girl who has a lvl 40 Slufpuff that is weak to bug moves. After you beat here there is only one way to go so take that pad and the heal and save because the next fight is for the Badge.

Valerie has a lvl 38 Mawile who I couldn’t find a weakness to but it isn’t bug, grass, or ground, a lvl 39 Mr. Mime who I couldn’t find the weakness to but it is not bug, and a lvl 42 Sylveon who killed my bug Pokemon before I could test it but I know he is immune to Dragon moves. After you beat her you will get the Fairy badge and TM Dazzling Gleam which is pretty strong.

Lumiose City Gym

Pikachu
Pokemon X & Y Lumiose City Gym GuideI had Chesnaught so I was able to clear out most of these guys without any issues. If you don’t have him then use a ground Pokemon like Dugtrio to counter the electricity moves. Bring potions and plenty of paralyze heals because you will get paralyzed a lot in here. The gym is known as the Quiz gym as well apparently.Once you are inside take the elevator up and then walk to the platform with the question marks. Once you are there you will get a question and the first one is who is that Pokemon? It is the outline of Pikachu. Go to number three and you will face Schoolboy Finnian. Finnian has one Pokemon, a lvl 34 Dedenne who I couldn’t find the weakness to because I kill him in one shot. One the next floor you will have another what Pokemon is it quiz. The Pokemon is a Fletchling and the correct number is one. Talk to her to face off with her. She also only has one Pokemon, a lvl 35 Raichu who is weak to ground. The third floor is a bit of a tricky one because they use the Pokemon who looks the same just different colors. Panpour is the right answer and that is door 3. You will fight Ace Trainer Rico and he has a lvl 36 Ampharos who is weak to ground moves. They try to throw you off again this time by showing you three different pictures and asking you which one is the different one. Take door number two this time and you will face off with lvl 34 Plusle who is weak to ground moves.Once you go up to the next floor you will face off with the Gym leader Clemont. Clemont has a lvl 35 Emolga who is weak to rock moves, a lvl 35 Magneton who is weak to ground moves, and a lvl 37 Helioisk who is weak to ground moves. Coumarine Gym

Pokemon X & Y Coumarine City Gym Guide

If you have a Charizard you will be able to mega evolve and run through this place with no problems. If not find a different fire Pokemon and bring some potions and antidotes to take off the annoying poison. Be sure to use the O power before the gym leader!

Once you get into the gym go up the rope to the first floor and then go to the right to face off with Pokemon Ranger Chaise. Chaise has a lvl 32 Simisage who is weak to fire moves.

After you beat him take the rope up and follow the path around to the next rope that goes up. On this floor go to the right until you face off with Pokemon Ranger Maurice. Maurice has a lvl 29 Ferroseed who is weak to fire, a lvl 29 Lombre who is also weak to fire, and a lvl 29 Carnvine who is weak to fire.

Once you beat Maurice head the opposite direction and drop down the rope and go fight Pokemon Ranger Brooke. Brooke has a lvl 30 Roselia who is weak to fire and a lvl 30 Wormadam who is weak to flying moves.

Go up the rope then head to the right until you face off with Pokemon Ranger Twiggy. Twiggy has a lvl 29 Gloom who is weak to fire and a lvl 31 Exegguitor who is weak to fire as well.

Take the next rope up and follow the path until you see the Gym leader and be sure to save. Ramos has a lvl 30 Jumpluff who is weak to fire, a lvl 34 Gogoat who is weak to fire, and a lvl lvl 31 Weepinbell who is of course weak to fire. The third gym in Pokemon X & Y is in Shalour City and it is the Fighting Gym. You will have to face five opponents in total in this gym in order to get the badge. This guide will help you beat them all with no problems at all! Let’s get started.

Shalour Gym

Pokemon X & Y Shalour City Gym Guide

This is a fighting type gym so bring Physic Pokemon and Flying Pokemon to counter the gym. I used my lvl 38 Charizard with Wing attack to blow through this gym with no trouble. Whatever Pokemon you plan on using try to make sure he is above lvl 35 since the top lvl here is 30.

Once you get into the gym there are four Roller Skaters you will have to beat in order to get to the Gym leader. They are scattered throughout the gym and they each have different Pokemon. Make sure you bring a few super or hyper potions to heal up if you take to much damage.

Roller Skate Kate who has a lvl 28 Meditate who is weak to flying moves and a lvl 28 Mienfoo who is also weak to flying moves.

Roller Skate Rolanda who has a lvl 27 Sawk who is weak to flying moves and a lvl 29 Hariyama who is also weak to flying moves.

Roller Skate Dash who has a lvl 30 Heracross who is weak to fire moves and can hit very hard so try to end him quick.

Roller Skater Shun who has a lvl 27 Pancham and is weak to flying moves, a lvl 27 Throh who is weak to flying moves, and a lvl 27 Machoke who is also weak to flying moves.

Once you beat all the skaters head to the center and face off with the gym leader Korrina. She has three Pokemon a lvl 29 Mienfoo who is weak to flying moves, a lvl 28 Machoke who is weak to flying moves, and a lvl 30 Hawlucha who is weak to flying moves as well. [line style=’ridge’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’] Tyrunt

Pokemon X & Y Cyllage Gym Guide

The highest level Pokemon here are lvl 25 so bring Pokemon higher then lvl 30 to ensure victory. I used a grass Pokemon for most of the battles but bring a fighting Pokemon as well. After you get the badge Pokemon up to lvl 40 will obey you and you can use the HM strength.

Climb up the wall next to the guy at the start of the gym to get to the next level. Once you are up there you will pass Rising Star Didier and he will have two Pokemon, Dwebble lvl 21 and Relicanth lvl 23 with a weakness to grass type moves.

From there go up the left wall and follow it all the way around and down to the next level. Keep going all the way around until you see another wall and climb it to face off with Hiker Craig who has a lvl 24 Rogeenrola who is weak to grass moves. Then go back down and head around to face off a Rising Star with Solrock lvl 21 with a weakness to grass moves, and Lunatone lvl 22 who is also weak to grass moves.

Go up the wall next to the last Rising Star and you will run into Hiker Bernard who has three Pokemon. First he will us a lvl 21 Rhyhorn who is weak to grass moves, followed by a lvl 21 Nosepass who is also weak to grass moves, then lastly a lvl 21 Onix who is weak to grass moves as well.

After you beat Hiker Bernard heal up and climb up the last wall because next you face the gym leader Grant. He only has two Pokemon, a lvl 25 Amaura who is weak to grass moves and deals a ton of damage, and a lvl 25 Tyrunt who I think is weak to fighting moves but I couldn’t find out before I killed him. After that you will get the badge and the TM Rock Tomb.

That will end the Pokemon X & Y Cyllage Gym Guide, check back soon for more Pokemon guides!
