With rising temps and school out for summer, what better way to beat the heat than with some nice, cool video games? See what games we’re excited for in June 2024 that will keep your consoles and PC happily humming.

Oh, and we won’t make you click through five pages to look at the entire list.

Top 5 Games We’re Excited for in June 2024

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

After winning the title of Game of the Year from The Game Awards, the world of FromSoftware and Bandai Namco’s Elden Ring is back with an all-new story in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Not only are we excited to play around with this standalone expansion’s new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic, we’re also all too eager to explore the new story set in the Land of Shadow.

Described as FromSoftware’s “largest expansion to date,” we’re once again looking forward to getting lost in its interconnected world.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 20.

NeoSprint

After growing up with top-down racers like Sprint, R.C. Pro-Am, and Super Off Road, we’re all too eager to hit the track with the release of Headless Chicken Games and Atari’s NeoSprint.

Not only are we eager to bring our friends along with its eight-player action, there’s also a Campaign mode, Grand Prix, Obstacle Courses, and Time Trials that are just dying to keep us busy.

However, we’ve really got our sights set on NeoSprint’s track building and sharing functionality. With different biomes, multiple customization options, and the chance to share and rank tracks, we like how there will be an emphasis on user-generated content.

NeoSprint will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 27.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble

There’s no monkeying around with the release of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA’s Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble this month!

We grew up with the series on the Nintendo GameCube, and we’re especially looking forward to competing with others online and diving into co-op. There’s even a single-player Adventure Mode experience!

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will come out for the Nintendo Switch on June 25.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game

As fans of the original horror classic, we are absolutely “dying” to experience Teravision Games and IllFonic’s asymmetrical Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game. Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game.

Staying true to the movie, this title pits the titular Killer Klowns and the citizens of Crescent Cove in a battle of survival across different tactical zones.

The end result? A unique approach to hide-and-seek gameplay that blends together customization, PvPvE, and dynamic objectives – the perfect tribute to the cult classic.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 4.

Still Wakes the Deep

Players will be transported back to 1975 with The Chinese Room and Secret Mode new horror title Still Wakes the Deep.

As the offshore oil rig worker Caz McLeary, players will have to contend with a vicious storm, severed communication lines, and no exits. To make matters worse – there’s also some unknowable horros that lie in wait.

We are fans of The Chinese Room’s previous works like Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, and this one has been described as “a symphony of action, trepidation, tender emotions, and awe.” Sounds good to us!

Still Wakes the Deep will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 18.

Kira Buckland Interview: The Voice of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Jolyne Cujoh Shares Her Thoughts on Voice Acting

Featuring a resume that spans the worlds of anime, gaming, and Twitch streaming, Kira Buckland is a standout voice actor in the space today. During FanimeCon 2024, Gamers Heroes sat down with her to talk about her wide range of work, cats, and how she engages with her “cowmunity.”

Top 5 Games We’re Excited for in May 2024

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

Ninja Theory and Xbox Game Studios’ Senua’s Saga: Hellbalde II is set to throw players into a brutal journey once more when it launches this month.

Set in a brutal Viking Iceland, players will once again follow the story of Senua as they set out to overcoming darkness both within and without.

Much like what drew us to the original release, we are looking forward to truly immersing itself in its world – between its detailed visuals and excellent sound work, this will truly be an audiovisual treat.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will come out for the Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 21, 2024.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Developer Intelligent Systems and Publisher by Nintendo are bringing the classic GameCube RPG Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door to the Nintendo Switch this May.

Players will still set a course as the infamous Mario as they set out to learn about the Crustal Stars and open the titular Thousand-Year Door.

We loved the original release to death, but we’re especially looking forward to seeing the glow-up done to the redone graphics and animations. If there’s a title that deserves this treatment, it’s Paper Mario and its “flat” world!

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will come out for the Nintendo Switch on May 23, 2024.

MultiVersus

The world of Player First Games and WB Games’ MultiVersus will be back and better than ever with the re-launch of MultiVersus.

We’re suckers for platform fighters like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Slap City; doubly so with Warner Bros. properties like Game of Thrones and Adventure Time.

We especially like the graphical updates and character updates via the use of Unreal Engine 5, along with its new PvE mode.

MultiVersus will come out for PC and consoles on May 28, 2024.

Homeworld 3

Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Software’s Homeworld 3 is set to continue the series’ rich legacy, letting players assume control and battle on a galactic scale.

Not only will players have complete strategic freedom, they’ll be able to do so on a massive scale. The story of the series has won multiple game of the year awards, and Homeworld 3 looks to pen a new chapter.

In particular, we’re looking forward to bringing a friend along for its co-op that combines the signature real-time strategy gameplay of the series with a more roguelike structure.

Homeworld 3 will come out for the PC on May 13, 2024.

Indika

Odd Meter and 11 bit Studios will transport players to an alternate Russia with their truly unique title Indika.

As players join the titular young nun Indika on her journey of self-discovery, players will be transported to an alternative late XIX century Russia. However, there’s a twist; religious visions clash with harsh reality with the devil as one’s companion.

Not only are we drawn to this truly unique concept, we’re also excited to see the distortion play out in this third-person adventure.

Indika will come out for the PC on May 11, 2024.

A Waterworld style MMO and an isometric Souls-like game, just some of the exciting projects leading the Steam Early Access charge this month. Today, we break down the 10 most exciting upcoming titles due to hit Steam Early Access this month, April 2024.

April’s shaping up to be a great month for Steam Early Access releases. Age of Water promises a PvP-fueled Waterworld-esque adventure, Kill it with Fire 2 hopes to capture the lightning in a bottle of its predecessor, and Manor Lords, well, there’s a reason it’s the most wishlisted game on Steam.

I’ve been in this industry for nearly 15 years, and I’m still amazed at the quality of games that slip under my radar. How many of these titles did you know were launching this month?

No Rest For The Wicked

Developer: Moon Studios GmbH | Publisher: Private Division | Early Access Release: April 18th | Wishlist

Not exactly the sort of game I expected to follow from Moon Studios. Developers of the critically acclaimed Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, No Rest for the Wicked is a brutal, isometric action RPG promising to “reinvent” the genre.

Precision-based combat has led many to describe No Rest for the Wicked as a Soulslike experience, and a mature and dark narrative leans even further into the Dark Souls ethos.

We’ve seen very little, but what we have seen sets this up to be not only one of the most exciting Early Access releases of this month, but of the entire year.

The combat looks visceral, the world expansive, and the graphics rival the very best this genre has ever seen. We cannot wait to jump in.

Official Trailer For No Rest For The Wicked

I was aware of this one after Johnny sent me a link on Discord, Smith Radar winning 1-0. That counts, right?

Manor Lords

Developer: Slavic Magic | Publisher: Hooded Horse | Early Access Release: April 24th | Wishlist

Manor Lords, at the time of writing, is currently the most Wishlisted game on Steam with over 2 million Wishlist entries. That’s pretty impressive, right?

Eh, it would be if that didn’t pale in comparison to the fact all of this has been achieved by a one-man development team (with a helping hand from the fantastic folk at Hooded Horse).

Manor Lords offers players an exciting bridge between city-management sim and real-time strategy combat. Total War, Age of Empires, it takes bits and pieces of the most popular strategy games and infuses them into a beautifully crafted game world befitting of any AAA game.

Players will be tasked with exploiting regions for resources, managing food and supplies to keep families happy, arming and preparing militia and mercenaries for war.

Manor Lords is one of those genre mashups that we only hope and pray for a AAA developer to take on at some point. Honestly? It’s even sweeter when an indie one pops up.

Official Trailer For Manor Lords

I’ve already got over 30 hours of Manor Lords under my belt, so had this one on my radar for some time. Smith Radar sitting at 2-0.

Age Of Water

Developer: Three Whales Studio | Publisher: Gaijin Network Ltd | Early Access Release: April 18th | Wishlist

Waterworld, as infamous as that movie is for being a massive commercial flop, offered such a thrilling and intriguing world. A post-apocalyptic Earth almost completely covered in water, a premise it shares with this exciting new Early Access title, Age of Water.

Sail through deadly storms, navigate treacherous seas, capture boats or build your own, find and extract rare and valuable resources, uncover the secrets of the ocean, Age of Waters promises a pirate-like experience that we should all be sick of by now…

Well, if Skull & Bones didn’t disappoint as much as it did.

Age of Water supports both co-operative and PvP-based gameplay with the MMO tag on Steam suggesting large-scale encounters and thriving players communities as a real possibility. Be sure to check out the trailer below.

If you don’t want to wait until release, you can check out Age of Water: The First Voyage now.

Official Trailer For Age Of Water

As much as I completely love the concept for Age of Water, I had no idea this was coming. Smith Radar takes its first hit at 2-1.

The Dead Await

Developer: Shotx | Publisher: Freedom Games | Early Access Release: April 15th | Wishlist

The Dead Await is a combination of some of my favorite aspects of gaming. A deck-building, turn-based RPG set during a zombie Apocalypse. Check, check, and check.

Combat, shown throughout the trailer, really gives me some Slay the Spire and Darkest Dungeon vibes, both games I absolutely love.

The open-world exploration kinda reminds me of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, except not terrible and you can actually explore manually. So, it’s not really anything remotely similar, but I mentioned it anyway.

Anyway, if you’re into your deckbuilding RPGs and want to couple that with managing resources and stopping your characters going insane, be sure to check out the trailer below.

Interested players can check out The Dead Await: Prologue for free.

Official Trailer For The Dead Await

Very much loving the visual style of The Dead Await and the genre is right up my alley. Alas, it was a darkened alley that I didn’t see coming. Smith Radar 2-2.

Survival Nation: Lost Horizon

Developer: Wenkly Studio Sp. z o.o. | Publisher: Freedom Games | Early Access Release: April 15th | Wishlist

The original Survival Nation was an open-world online RPG designed for VR. Survival Nation: Lost Horizon features a similar open-world RPG design but from an isometric perspective with a heavier emphasis on survival.

Players will need to work together with their fellow survivors to gather and manage resources, tackle down challenging roaming zombie bosses, oh, and fight off the never-ending onslaught of the undead.

Survival Nation: Lost Horizon supports online and multiplayer play, allowing groups of survivors to band together to take on the games various challenges. It can also be played solo, for those wanting to brave the elements alone.

Official Trailer For Survival Nation: Lost Horizon

I love an isometric zombie killing smash fest as much as the next guy, but missed this one too… Smith Radar 2-3…

Kill It With Fire 2

Developer: Casey Donnellan Games LLC | Publisher: tinyBuild | Early Access Release: April 16th | Wishlist

The original Kill it with Fire took Steam by storm. Releasing in August of 2020, it delivered the spider-killing frenzy nobody knew they wanted.

Every house has the designated spider killer. The brave soul you send to the frontlines to deal with any unwanted arachnids. Straight faced and free of fear they head into battle, armed with a glass or broom, depending on preference.

What most don’t know is the designated spider kill is typically as terrified as you are. Enter Kill it with Fire. Tackling an unwanted 8 legged squater becomes infinitely less scary and downright enjoyable when it can be down with a flame thrower, a frying pan, or a weed chopper.

Kill it with Fire 2 looks to build on everything that made the original great. More ludicrous weapons, terrifying new species of spider, and a multiverse of spiders to take down.

If you don’t want to wait until release, check out the Kill it with Fire 2 demo.

Official Trailer For Kill It With Fire 2

It’s hard not to know about the Kill it with Fire sequel, it has been all over my Steam for some time. Clawing it back, Smith Radar 3-3.

Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure

Developer: Massive Miniteam | Publisher: HandyGames | Early Access Release: April 24th | Wishlist

A beautiful blend of managing efficiency and solving puzzles, Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure looks to be the perfect new titles for fans of games like Factorio, albiet in a much cuter skin.

Oddsparks promises players exciting opportunities to explore, discover, and unearth in an exciting, procedurally generated world as they battle, build, and manage their way to victory.

The game supports up to 4 players with both narrative and gameplay progression kept in the same save file, making it the perfect drop-in, drop-out adventure to have with friends.

Oddspark has been designed from the ground up with an “accessible core” supported by a variety of accessibility features, allowing all players to enjoy building and managing an expansive automation and logistics network regardless of skill or ability.

Don’t want to wait until Early Access launch? Check out the Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure demo today.

Official Trailer For Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure

Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure looks wonderfully charming, but today was my first time seeing it. Smith Radar 3-4, and that’s about the end of the positive trend for my ever impressive industry knowledge.

Spanky

Developer: HappyHead Games | Publisher: HappyHead Games | Early Access Release: April 30th | Wishlist

Spanky is described officially as…let me just check this. Yup. A booty-physics party game that gives players the opportunity to slap some “jiggly tush“.

You read that right, Spanky is all about the booty, the junk in the trunk, the but-tocks (in the words of Forrest Gump).

With huge AAA games vying to take up hundreds of hours of our time, live service games fueling the FOMO of missing the latest Battle Pass items, a laid-back party game could be just the thing we need.

Players are promised a variety of exciting game modes with a high skill-ceiling movement system that, *clears throat*, gives you the chance to master the “booty schmovement“.

I really don’t know what else to say about Spanky. Watch the video. Seriously, watch it.

Official Trailer For Spanky

Nope. I had no idea such a booty heavy game was coming to Steam, and I’m an ass man. Smith Radar 3-5.

Pine Harbor

Developer: Vision Forge Team | Publisher: Vision Forge Team | Early Access Release: April 25th | Wishlist

I almost glossed over Pine Harbor when it appeared in my Steam Discovery feed. If you’ve been on Steam as long as I have, the image of a lone weapon in the center of the screen is rarely a sign of something as dark and forboding as Pine Harbor.

Based in a small fishing town on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, a technological disaster of unknown origins brought the town to its knees.

An almost Silent Hill-like fog covers Pine Harbor and much of its surroundings, as players explore a dark and gritty world, trying to help the survivors and uncover the secrets of the disaster.

Official Trailer For Pine Harbor

Pine Harbor looks fantastic, especially the scene with the old man in the cabin. However, I’ve been hyped by similar first-person games far too often in the past so it’s a Steam scene I don’t frequent. Missed this one. Smith Radar 3-6

Denizen

Developer: Departure Interactive | Publisher: Departure Interactive | Early Access Release: April 29th | Wishlist

Have you grown tired and weary of the 9-5 grind? You wake up every day, bust your ass for a boss or company that doesn’t appreciate you, go home, sleep, and do it all again the next day. You have?

Well, fantastic news. Now you can do it all again when you get home. Denizen is a life simulation game that places players in a city full of opportunity, rise to the top through hard work and grind.

It’s like real-life, but the payoff at the end actually happens.

In Denizen players can customize their characters with a huge variety of clothing items and accessories. Players can own, furnish, and upgrade their own property.

Various jobs promise endless hours of “workertainment” as you throw pepperoni on pizza, make deliveries, and even do work for the locals.

What’s your dream job in an open-world life simulator game? Is it the same as your real dream job?

Official Trailer For Denizen

30%. I knew 30% of the games I’ve listed in today’s breakdown of exciting upcoming Steam Early Access games. Anyone got any job vacancies?

April is a relatively quiet month on the AAA scene, but this wonderfully creative industry is never far away from its next massive and unexpected indie hit.

If any of the games shown in today’s list pique your interest, be sure to Wishlist the games on Steam, it’s a huge help for the developers and publishers.

Any that we missed? Let us know your most anticipated Steam Early Access games in the comments below.

Following the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cloud’s Strife’s story continues with the release of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Following the party’s escape from Midgar, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will feature a more open-ended environment compared to Final Fantasy VII Remake’s linear progression system.

The Active-Time Battle (ATB) system makes its return, along with action-focused melee combat. Making its appearance in Episode InterMISSION is the Synergized Mechanic, which allows for members to sync up attacks.

Along the way, this action shooter will have players teaming up for four-player cooperative multiplayer shenanigans. Granblue Fantasy: Relink is far from a solo affair; its real-time combat supports up to four-player co-op. Each enemy and party formation has strengths and weaknesses, with Link Attacks and Chain Bursts helping out in a pinch.

A bittersweet year for the gaming industry, 2023 nevertheless had some of the greatest releases to come out in ages. Highly anticipated sequels, AAA wonders, countless dark horses, and even an indie darling or three made it incredibly hard to narrow down our Game of the Year choices to just five titles.

When it came to Gamers Heroes’ 2023 Game of the Year Awards, we chose titles that stuck with us well after the credits rolled. Some took us on an adventure, some put a smile on our face, but all managed to make their mark in the industry for both 2023 and the years to come.

A few things to note:
[list style=’regular’]
[list_item]We don’t use multiple categories here at Gamers Heroes; We don’t want to give an exclusive award for a game on multiplatform[/list_item]
[list_item]Or put an indie game up for GOTY that doesn’t automatically win indie GOTY, or nominate a game for an indie award that isn’t indie.[/list_item]
[list_item]Or announce a cut-off date and then announce nominations a week before that date.[/list_item]
[list_item]Or nominate someone for something they didn’t actually do.[/list_item]
[/list]

On that note, here are Gamers Heroes’ 2023 Game of the Year winners, in no particular order…

Hogwarts Legacy

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

The Wizarding World has made an impact in the worlds of literature, movies, and even candy, but there previously had yet to be a game that lived up to the legacy of The Boy Who Lived.

That is, until Avalanche Studios and WB Games performed some magic with the release of Hogwarts Legacy. Fans of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series will be absolutely chuffed to see the hallowed Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and its surroundings in striking detail. Everything you’d expect is present and accounted for, from one’s house selection to classes to even trips to Hogsmeade.

However, it’s not all sunshine and butterbeer in this action RPG. Hogwarts Legacy features an original story set 100 years from the books, having players contend with the hostile goblin Ranrok, ancient secrets, and plenty of dangers. It’s a dream come true for all us muggles who dare to dream.

Hogwarts Legacy is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

We’ll spare you the “wonder” puns and just say that Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the best entries in the Super Mario Bros. series to date.

This is certainly no small feat – there are enough “New” entries in the series to make the concept feel old. However, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is just teeming with life, with a fresh new world in the form of the Flower Kingdom to explore.

As one would expect, a new title comes with new power-ups, and the chance to turn into an elephant or drill through the world changes things up a considerable deal. However, it’s the Wonder Flowers that put Super Mario Bros. Wonder ahead of other entries; every single level has an alternate reality that sets out to change platforming standards. From transformations to musicals, the creativity shines through until the day is saved – and then some with its robust post-game.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder once again proves that Mario is the king of the platforming genre. Much like his previous adventures did before, the amount of creativity and polish on display sets a new industry standard.Super Mario Bros. Wonder Review, Casey Scheld

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is available for the Nintendo Switch.

Baldur’s Gate 3

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

After a partial release came out back in 2020, the full release of Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 is easily the best turn-based game of 2023.

The development team has done everything in their power to make sure Baldur’s Gate 3 stands out. Every single character in this immersive epic is voice acted and motion captured, companion characters have their own narrative, and there are even 46 suubclasses to choose from.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s flexible quest system made sure our experience was truly one of a kind. When we say all choices matter, we truly mean it; we sunk more than 90 hours across its three acts and dealt with the repercussions of our actions well after they occurred. When paired with its open world, it proves that Baldur’s Gate 3 is a masterclass of design.

We’re not alone in our accolades, either; the title has also won Game of the Year from the Golden Joystick Awards and The Game Awards – no small feat!

Those who huddled around weekly Dungeons & Dragons sessions will love Baldur’s Gate 3; no Dungeon Master required.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is nothing short of a masterpiece. The story is incredible, the world gorgeous and immersive, voice-over and writing of the highest quality, an amazing soundtrack, everything comes together in near perfect harmony. It’s not only the best RPG of the year, it’s the RPG of a generation.Baldur’s Gate 3 Review, Blaine Smith

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and GOG.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

Six years after the seminal The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild set a new gold standard, Nintendo has raised the stakes once more with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The freedom from the protagonist Link’s previous adventure is still present and accounted for; Hyrule’s got plenty of Shrines, quests, recipes, and tasks that will command your attention.

However, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom triples its world size with the inclusion of the Sky and the Depths, each containing elements like Brightroot and floating islands. There’s also Zonai devices, and new abilities like the Ultrahand and Fuse encourage creativity.

Put simply, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom once again redefines the open world genre.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

While the Star Wars franchise has seen a bit of fatigue as of late (we’re looking at you, Book of Boba Fett), Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts do Star Wars right with the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order wowed us when it originally came out, and we were absolutely thrilled to continue Jedi Cal Kestis’ journey in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This protagonist’s Padawan days are well behind him; this action-adventure title features new stances (including dual-wield stances), a new Force stasis ability, and deeper character customization.

Cal’s open world in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has also received a noticeable glow-up; players can explore optional areas, Jedi Meditation Chamber puzzles, and far more densely populated worlds. Rounding things out is an epic sci-fi story that pits players against the Galactic Empire once more.

This entry proves yet again that letting Respawn handle the Star Wars IP is the right call. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a Game of the Year contender in a very stacked year.Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Review, Johnny Hurricane

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Honorable Mentions

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

There were plenty of other releases that just barely did not make our 2023 Game of the Year Awards list. However, we did want to pay tribute to them with our “Honorable Mentions” category:

RoboCop: Rogue City

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

An 80s and 90s staple (we don’t talk about the 2014 movie), Teyon and Nacon make sure that RoboCop is done justice with RoboCop: Rogue City.

Setting out to protect and serve (naturally), we appreciated how it truly immersed us into its world. It’s not just the attention-to-detail – though we do appreciate the Auto 9 and Peter Weller reprising his role.

Rather, we loved how RoboCop: Rogue City got the little things down as well. From chasing down a stolen 6000 SUX to even the way RoboCop drives a police car, everything comes together to make RoboCop: Rogue City the ultimate love letter to fans of the series.

RoboCop Rogue City pays homage to its source material like no other. A faithful recreation of a beloved character and world over 30 years in the making. At its core, it’s a fantastic over-the-top 80s action shooter but dig a little deeper and you’ll find a dark, dystopian tale of man and machine more relevant today than ever.RoboCop: Rogue City Review, Blaine Smith

RoboCop: Rogue City is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

For the King II

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

We at Gamers Heroes can never get enough co-op action in our lives. IronOak Games and Curve Games have heard our pleas, releasing their co-op thriller For the King II to quench our dying thirst.

Roguelite and tabletop gameplay come together like peanut butter and chocolate, creating a delicacy that is easy to learn but hard to master. While For the King II doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but the advancement and progress of each class is absolutely stunning. It truly makes For the King II feel instantly familiar and charming, like coming back to a warm home after a cold days’ work.

However, the key standout is the inclusion of four player support. While the random events, new locations, new classes, and new weapons were all fine and dandy, bringing a fourth player along makes For the King II one of the best co-op experiences on the market today.

For The King 2 is the perfect sequel. It takes the very best components of its predecessor and uses those time-tested elements to raise the series to new heights. To put it simply, For The King 2 is one of the best strategy-based co-op experiences on the market today. For the King 2 Review, Blaine Smith

For the King II is available for the PC.

LEGO Fortnite

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

LEGO and Epic Games’ Fortnite are all about building – turns out, combining the two makes for the ultimate survival crafting adventure!

Much like the real-life blocks, building your village in LEGO Fortnite is an absolute blast. We had a fantastic time gathering elements from its world, surviving the elements, and recruiting villagers. It leads to an immersive system that’s easy to get lost in. Put simply, LEGO Fortnite features the best elements of the crafting genre.

The best part? New world building, gameplay features, and additional LEGO Style Outfits are slated for early 2024.

LEGO Fortnite is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Is there a specific video game that stood out to you in 2023? We’re all ears – let us know in the comments.

Picking out the perfect Christmas gift for your gaming loved ones is no easy feat, made near impossible with 2023’s fantastic launch calendar. In this Best Christmas Gifts For Gamers 2023 breakdown, we cover the best movie tie-ins that will immerse players into their favorite flicks.*

RoboCop: Rogue City

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

Players will be able to protect and serve with an action-packed trip to Old Detroit in Teyon and Nacon’ RoboCop: Rogue City.

This action-adventure title isn’t a simple retread; players will experience an original story set between RoboCop 2 and 3 that tells of “Project Afterlife.” With their signature Auto 9 in hand (complete with unlimited ammo), players can join Anne Lewis as they dish out justice. This love-letter even has Peter Weller reprising his role as RoboCop – just the thing for longtime fans.

RoboCop: Rogue City is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Purchasing options can be found on the official RoboCop Rogue City website.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

After previously working with the Predator franchise, Illfonic proves that they’re not afraid of no ghosts with the release of Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.

Allowing teams of four to live out their ghostbusting dreams, players can track down ghosts in the ultimate game of hide-and-seek as they take on different jobs as a new recruit. Feeling a bit more sinister? Players can also choose to designate somebody as a ghost to terrorize other players in its asynchronous multiplayer. No matter what role one chooses, ghosting will make them feel good.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Purchasing options can be found on the official Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed website.

Hogwarts Legacy

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

The wizarding world awaits with the release of Avalanche Studios and WB Games’ Hogwarts Legacy.

Set before the books and movies in the 1800s, players will be able to enter the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and immerse themselves in this open world. Everything Potterheads have come to know and love can be done in this title, from choosing one’s house to making impromptu trips to Hogsmeade. For those that can’t get enough Harry Potter, this is your game.

Hogwarts Legacy is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Purchasing options can be found on the official Hogwarts Legacy website.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

[line style=’solid’ top=’10’ bottom=’10’ width=’100%’ height=’1′ color=’blue’]

For those eagerly awaiting the next entry in the Spider-Verse animated movie series, Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios are here to bridge the gap with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

The multiple Spider-Man (Spider-Men?) are here, with both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters with countless suits to match. Kraven the Hunter and the Venom symbiote also make an appearance in a New York City that’s just waiting to be explored. No matter what one chooses, players will really feel like Spider-Man (too easy).

Purchasing options for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 can be found on the official PlayStation website.
