Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Peter Parker and Miles Morales will make their return with the release of Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios’ Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Set in an open-world New York sandbox 10 months after the 2018 release, players will be able to utilize a number of web-based gadgets and suits with their own skill trees. However, not everything is the same; new to this release is the symbiote suit, which has Peter Parker gaining a whole new suite of abilities. This is on top of new characters like Venom, Rio Morales, and Kraven the Hunter.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will come out for the PlayStation 5 on October 20.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder

A new side-scrolling adventure, Mario is back on the beat with the release of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Much like previous entries, Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad (among other characters) will be playable as they set out to save the Flower Kingdom. Threats like Goombahs and Piranha Plants will make their return, but new to this game are power-ups that transform players into elephants, shoot bubbles, and use drill hats. There are also Expert Badges that grant advanced skills.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder will come out for the Nintendo Switch on October 20.

Sonic Superstars

Players will be able to pay a trip to the Northstar Islands with the release of Arzest and SEGA’s Sonic Superstars.

Dr. Eggman once again poses a threat, but this time he is joined by Fang the Hunter and Trip. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy will then set out to save the day, traversing through 12 different zones that have players collecting rings and entering special stages. Local multiplayer and PvP have also been included.

Sonic Superstars will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 17.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Ubisoft Bordeaux will transport players to 9th century Baghdad with the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Much like previous entries, players will utilize parkour, close-quarter combat, and stealth as they take control of the Assassin Basim. The signature Assassin Hidden Blade makes its return, alongside smoke bombs and the Assassin Focus ability that can let players take down multiple foes at one time.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will come out for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 5.

Alan Wake II

Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games Publishing are continuing Alan’s story with the release of Alan Wake II.

This survival horror title has players taking control of the titular Alan Wake and newcomer FBI agent Saga Anderson as they explore Bright Falls, Washington. New to this entry is a dialog tree system, along with a Mind Place that serves as a haven for agent Saga’s thoughts.

Alan Wake II will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 27.
