The Golden Joystick Awards Honor The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Award It Game Of The Year

The 35th annual Golden Joystick awards took place this past weekend, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild took the top honor of “Ultimate Game of the Year.”

Zelda also took home Best Audio, Nintendo Game of the Year, and the Critic’s Choice awards. It has been a phenomenal year for Nintendo, and it just keeps getting better. The perennial gaming company was also awarded Studio of the Year. The Golden Joystick Award winners are voted on by the public, with the exception of Critic’s Choice, Hall of Fame, Outstanding Contribution to the UK Games Industry, and Lifetime Achievement. These last four categories are decided upon by industry insiders. The London-based award show has celebrated individuals such as Eiji Aonuma, Satoru Iwata (who was awarded posthumously), and Hideo Kojima in past ceremonies.

Additionally, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is also up for GOTY at The Game Awards, which were previously known as the Spike Video Game Awards.
