Questionable Future For Square Enix

During a recent financial report Square Enix published a new PDF that highlights their plans to restore the fabled developer back to its former glory. To the surprise and disappointment of many, Square Enix and Eidos will focus on MMO online gaming and mobile platforms, arguably two of the most unstable aspects of gaming today. Microsoft Confirm Free Xbox One Email Is Legitimate

All the latest happenings from Microsoft And The Xbox One
Earlier this week some Xbox 360 users reported an email that most assumed to be fake. In that email was a claim that the individuals were due to receive an Xbox One, for free. You can’t really blame gamers for expecting this to be fake, after-all Microsoft aren’t overly famous for their generosity. A user then took to Twitter and the official Microsoft customer support helpline but to their surprise, it was confirmed. More information here.

Naughty Dog Hoping To Impress With Next-Gen Title

The Hottest News From Naughty Dog
The developers of the critically acclaimed The Last of Us recently took to Reddit for a developer Q&A but they couldn’t resist the urge to tease their next-generation title. During the Q&A session Uncharted 3’s Lead Multiplayer Designer, Robert Cogburn, said the following:

“If I said anything about what we’re doing right now it wouldn’t be exciting,” he teased. “The PS4 is awesome. It gives us the chance to do a lot of things that we’ve been talking about for some time. You’ll be in awe when you play it.”

I don’t really care if it’s a new IP or a sequel, Naughty Dog have yet to disappoint.

Jeremy Conrad Slams Call of Duty: Ghosts

The latest news for Call Of Duty: Ghosts
A recent Tweet from Ex-IGN Editor, Jeremy Conrad, has sparked controversy among next-generation fans as he claims FPS drops are a reason to avoid purchasing Call of Duty: Ghosts. The game has already caused issues between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans after the announcement of the difference in resolution but Conrad claims that both the 720p Xbox One version and 1080p PlayStation 4 version suffer from FPS drops from 60-50. The importance of resolution can be argued until your blue in the fact but FPS is incredibly important in games like COD.

The Latest News Surrounding Sony's PlayStation 3
Sony announced this week that the PlayStation 3 has sold an impressive 80 million units, which isn’t quite on par with the 120 million units sold for the PlayStation 2. However, guesstimating at a an average $300 per console purchase, that still puts Sony over $20 billion ahead. The PlayStation 3 has over 4220 games in its arsenal, a figure that overshadows that of its predecessor. For more information on this story check out GameIndustry.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Smashing First Day Sales Records

The latest news for Call Of Duty: Ghosts
Grand Theft Auto V recently took the world by storm after earning $1 billion worth of sales in 3 days for developers Rockstar. However that hype is short lived as Call of Duty: Ghosts has completely smashed GTAV to pieces, earning over $1 billion in a single day. These figures are impressive enough before you consider the fact that at least some gamers will be waiting for next-generation versions available later this month. Love it or hate it, the Call of Duty franchise is going nowhere fast.
