Maniac Mansion-Inspired Cronela’s Mansion Coming in 2025

An epic journey over four years in the making, Straynus’ spiritual successor to Lucasfilm’s Maniac Mansion – Cronela’s Mansion – will launch for PC and consoles in 2025.

Taking inspiration from SCUMM engine titles of the late 80s/early 90s, Cronela’s Mansion is an open-world adventure game that tells the story of Tommy.

Players will join him as he explores the titular sprawling estate, solves clever puzzles, and interacts with different characters through a branching dialogue system,

Cronela’s Mansion is especially unique, in that it’s set to release for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. This is on top of Nintendo Switch and PC versions.

Cronela´s Mansion: New Point And Click Adventure For Retro Consoles

Straynus said the following:

“For the past four years, I have been working at Cronela’s Mansion. Creating a point-and-click game for retro systems has been a challenging experience, both physically and mentally, as all versions are programmed and drawn from scratch. 

The NES version, in particular, has been very difficult to create. Now, I am looking for funding on Kickstarter to be able to produce all the physical material for the games. If you like my work and love retro graphic adventures, it would be amazing to have your support.”
