System Shock Coming to Consoles May 21

The team at Nightdive Studios and PLAION announced that the award-winning sci-fi epic System Shock remake will make its way to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S May 21.

A fully fledged remake of the 1994 original, System Shock sets out to completely overhaul the original title. Features include all-new HD visuals that utilize an art style that combines retro future design with modern technology.

Also making their appearance in this System Shock update are updated controls, an overhauled interface, and all-new sounds and music. In the case of the latter, it strives for authenticity by including the original voice actor of the iconic villain SHODAN.

New to the world of System Shock? This title tasks players with face off against the forces of a rogue AI gone mad as they encounter a non-linear story. This is achieved by jacking into cyberspace as players hack the system and open alternative routes.

Note that System Shock will be available in both physical and digital formats on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, the title will be released in digital format only on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
